We invite the academic community to join the Latin American Association of Rural History

The Latin American Association of Rural History is an international non-profit making academic organisation, whose mission is to promote the research and teaching of Latin American rural history and foster collaboration between the academic communities of the region and similar associations in other regions of the world. Participation in ALAHR is also open to academics and students of the humanities and social sciences who work on the Latin American rural world from an historical perspective. To join ALAHR visit the membership section of our website: https://alahr.org/membresia/

ALAHR sponsors and contributes to the editorial management, financing and dissemination of Historia Agraria de América Latina (HAAL), ISSN 2452-5162, www.haal.cl, a journal published since 2020 by the Centro de Estudios de Historia Agraria de América Latina (CEHAL). The journal seeks to promote and disseminate scientific research and interdisciplinary debate on Latin American rural history, giving priority to articles that analyse new issues and problems, propose theoretical-methodological contributions and/or present new interpretations. HAAL also considers articles in economics, anthropology, political science, sociology and other disciplines that examine issues of rural society from an historical perspective.

The first congress of the Latin American Association of Rural History will take place from 24 until 27 June 2024 in Mexico City, jointly hosted by El Colegio de México (Centro de Estudios Históricos) and the Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios Superiores en Antropología Social (CIESAS). The conference will be hybrid, with in-person and online participation.
